3rd Quezon City International Marathon

I started running a year ago, and of all the running events I joined, the location is always either at The Fort-BGC, or in SM Mall of Asia, or in Roxas Boulevard.  This will be the first time I will run in my city of residence, Quezon City.

What is QCIM?

The QCIM is a working showcase of the private-public sector partnership between the Quezon City government and the sponsors. It will be the culmination of all the city government’s sports activities for the year. As such, its continuing success is the personal concern of Mayor Herbert Bautista and Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Started its first event last 2009, the Quezon City International Marathon (QCIM)  has become popular and is featured in Runner’s World Magazine’s calendar of international marathons.

On December 4, 2011, the Quezon City International Marathon, on its 3rd year, will pass through the widest road–Commonwealth Avenue, the vicinity of the University of the Philippines and the earthly environment of La Mesa Water Dam and Eco-park. This is mainly because the government of Quezon City, through the Quezon City International Marathon 2011 (QCIM), aims to promote Quezon City not only as a sports tourism destination but also, the event will  help transform Commonwealth Avenue into one of the safest and most disciplined highways in the country.

So what are we waiting for? Register at QCIM 2011!
